The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has released a documentary on USA Today highlighting the recreational vehicle industry’s history, American manufacturing, and cultural significance as the United States prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on July 1, the documentary examines the industry’s heritage, domestic production, workforce and innovation while emphasizing the role RV travel plays in allowing people to explore the country.
The film provides a national platform for showcasing the companies and individuals that contribute to the RV sector.
Filmed at the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana, the documentary explores the industry’s contribution to American manufacturing, employment and local economies.
It also highlights the craftsmanship involved in RV production and the role of the sector in outdoor recreation and travel.
The film features interviews with Airstream President and CEO Bob Wheeler, KOA President and CEO Toby O’Rourke, and Winnebago Industries Vice President Chad Reece. The executives discuss the industry’s history, ongoing product innovation and its outlook for the future of RV travel.
According to the association, the documentary focuses on the people, companies and technological advancements that have shaped the RV industry while illustrating how RV travel supports exploration, connection and outdoor experiences.
The release coincides with preparations for America 250, the nationwide observance marking the country’s 250th anniversary. The timing is intended to recognize the RV industry’s longstanding role in American manufacturing and its connection to travel and recreation.
In addition to documenting the industry’s history, the film highlights domestic production and the workforce that supports RV manufacturing. The association said the documentary also examines how the industry continues to evolve through innovation while maintaining its manufacturing base in the United States.
The RVIA is encouraging manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, campgrounds and other industry partners to share the documentary through social media, employee communications, customer newsletters and other outreach channels to broaden its audience.
The association said the documentary is designed to increase public awareness of the industry’s economic contributions and manufacturing capabilities while celebrating the companies and workers behind RV production.
The documentary is now available through USA Today as part of the association’s outreach efforts leading up to America’s 250th anniversary celebration.
