New management has taken over the Les Petites Pyrénées campsite in Aurignac, marking the start of a new chapter for the accommodation site as preparations continue for the arrival of visitors for the current tourism season.
The campsite is now managed by Marido Graillot, 42, and Lola Giraud, 38, who assumed responsibility for the facility after successfully responding to a municipal call for applications. The pair said their decision to pursue the opportunity was driven by a shared vision for the campsite and their positive impression of the local community.
“We immediately liked the atmosphere of the village, its dynamism and the quality of the welcome,” said Marido.
According to the report, the municipality selected the new operators after reviewing a proposal that emphasized transparency and careful planning. Their appointment comes as the campsite prepares to welcome its first guests under the new management team.
Located in a green setting near Aurignac, the Les Petites Pyrénées campsite offers approximately 40 pitches and benefits from access to a range of nearby amenities. These include a swimming pool, sports facilities, hiking trails, a paddock for horseback riders, charging stations for electrically assisted bicycles, and a motorhome waste disposal station.
The new managers have indicated that they intend to introduce several operational and guest-service initiatives beginning this season. Plans include opening the campsite bar every evening and offering a small food service available to both campers and local visitors. They also aim to develop partnerships with local businesses and organizations while participating in community activities and events throughout the year.
“We want to create a warm place where holidaymakers will want to come back,” they told La Dépêche du Midi. “And word-of-mouth will be our best advertisement.”
The transition reflects a broader trend seen across many independently operated campgrounds and outdoor hospitality businesses, where local engagement and experience-focused offerings are increasingly being used to strengthen guest loyalty.
For campground and glamping operators, the approach being adopted at Les Petites Pyrénées highlights the importance of integrating accommodations with surrounding community assets, recreational infrastructure, and local partnerships. Such strategies can help extend visitor spending within a destination while creating additional reasons for repeat visits.
While no specific schedule for future events has been announced, the managers have identified festive activities and community involvement as priorities as they begin operations. Their efforts during the current season will likely shape the direction of the campsite’s development in the years ahead.
