OHI Board of Directors Nomination Window Closes May 28

The nomination period for five open seats on the OHI Board of Directors will close May 28 at 5 p.m. EST, as the organization seeks candidates representing a broader range of geographic regions, business types, and industry expertise.

According to OHI, members of the outdoor hospitality community may either self-nominate or submit nominations on behalf of other industry professionals they believe would contribute to the board.

Nomination forms, candidate guidelines, and frequently asked questions are available through OHI Board Service Information.

The announcement said its current board recently completed a formal assessment process that identified gaps in geographic representation, operational backgrounds, and professional skill sets among current leadership.

As part of the 2026 nomination cycle, OHI said it is particularly interested in candidates with park owner or operator experience in the western United States, as well as individuals representing small family-owned parks, corporate park operations, and the vendor and supplier sector.

The board is also seeking a mix of long-established industry professionals and younger emerging leaders, according to the announcement.

OHI identified several preferred areas of expertise for prospective board members, including financial management, nonprofit revenue strategy, organizational strategic planning, customer acquisition and retention, and long-term industry planning applicable to parks of varying sizes.

The listed qualifications are preferences rather than mandatory requirements and encouraged candidates who meet one or more of the identified areas to apply.

“This is one of the most direct ways someone in our industry can have a real say in where our organization is headed. We’re looking for people who care about this industry and want to be in the room where decisions are made,” Paul Bambei, president and CEO of OHI, said in a statement.

“If that sounds like you, or someone you know, now is the time to step forward,” Bambei added.

OHI said the election ballot will be published Aug. 12, with online voting scheduled to open Sept. 14 and close Oct. 1. Newly elected board members are expected to be announced Oct. 6 and sworn in Nov. 11 during OHCE.
