Camp Quitcherbichin Named Glamping Resort of the Year by Texas Association of Campground Owners

Camp Quitcherbichin in Lake Bridgeport, Texas, has been named Glamping Resort of the Year by the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO), recognizing the property’s combination of waterfront recreation, themed accommodations, and expanded guest amenities.

The award was presented April 21 during TACO’s annual Spring Meeting and Convention at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center, an industry gathering that draws hundreds of campground and RV park operators from across Texas.

The recognition highlights one of the state’s newer glamping developments following the resort’s opening over Labor Day.

Located about 60 to 90 minutes northwest of Dallas, the resort features 1 mile of waterfront along Lake Bridgeport.

Amenities include pontoon boat, kayak, paddle board, and pedal boat rentals, along with guided night bow fishing experiences. The property also includes a petting zoo featuring miniature donkeys, horses, goats, pigs, and a turkey.

The resort offers 48 RV sites and a mix of rental accommodations designed to appeal to a range of visitors. These include two 1977 Airstream trailers, four covered wagons, 12 large site-built cabins, and 10 futuristic “vessels” equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, smart mirrors, electronic skylights, and heated floors.

The layout also emphasizes shared spaces and fire pits intended to encourage guest interaction.

Food and entertainment options include Jo Mama’s Italian Kitchen, Trailer Park Tacos, Sacred Cow Burger Co., and the Honey Hole Saloon, which hosts live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

A “Chill Station” offers coffee, sweets, and ice cream, while Delilah’s Ballroom serves as an event venue with seating for 200 people, a stage, bar, and commercial kitchen for weddings and corporate events. An arcade is also available for families.

Developer Justin McWilliams said the concept behind the resort’s name reflects its broader guest experience. “It’s a reminder for everyone to relax, have a good time, and leave your worries at home,” he said.

General Manager Gracie Oates said demand has continued to build as awareness spreads. “The resort appeals to a wide range of people, so we are very ethnically diverse. We see a lot of younger couples in the accommodations, too, because we have a little bit of everything,” Oates said.
