Under Canvas Appoints Noah Brodsky as CEO

Under Canvas has appointed Noah Brodsky as chief executive officer, succeeding Matt Gaghen, the company announced April 29, as the outdoor hospitality operator continues expanding its U.S. footprint and brand portfolio.

Gaghen, who has led the company since 2020, will transition to executive chairman through the end of 2026 before joining the company’s board of directors. The leadership change comes as Under Canvas advances new developments and adds destinations across multiple regions.

According to a press release, Gaghen said the company has grown to 17 locations during his tenure, including the launch of its ULUM luxury outdoor resort brand and the Outdoor Collection.

“It’s been a privilege to help lead a brand that puts connection – to place, to community, and to each other – at the center of everything it does, delivering exceptional experiences in nature,” Gaghen said. “As Under Canvas looks ahead, I’m confident Noah is the ideal leader to carry that same commitment forward while helping Under Canvas continue to innovate and redefine how guests from around the world experience the outdoors.”

Brodsky brings more than 20 years of experience across hospitality, travel, and consumer lifestyle sectors.

He most recently served as chief commercial officer at Lindblad Expeditions, where he oversaw global commercial strategy.

His prior roles include president of the Travel + Leisure Group and chief brand officer at Travel + Leisure Co., as well as senior vice president of worldwide loyalty and customer engagement at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

He has also held leadership positions at WeWork and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.

“Under Canvas has created something truly distinctive in travel – immersive stays that combine the wonder of the outdoors with elevated design, comfort, and hospitality,” Brodsky said. “With a growing portfolio rooted in iconic locations and a guest experience that feels intentional at every touchpoint, the brand is exceptionally well positioned to meet increasing demand for more meaningful, place-based travel.”

The appointment follows several recent and planned expansions. In April, Under Canvas opened its Yosemite location, marking its first property in California and the state’s first DarkSky Approved lodging experience.

The company also introduced the Outdoor Collection in April 2025, adding properties such as The Fields of Michigan in South Haven and Bar N Ranch in West Yellowstone.

Under Canvas plans to open a White Mountains location in New Hampshire in June 2026, extending its presence into the Northeast as it continues to grow its network of outdoor hospitality destinations.
