Manitobans can begin booking provincial park campgrounds for the 2026 season starting next month, with reservations opening in a staggered schedule.
The province announced that the booking process will begin April 13 for cabins, yurts, and group-use areas.
According to an article published by CTV News on March 23, campsites at Birds Hill, Winnipeg Beach, and Grand Beach will become available on April 14.
Reservations for Whiteshell Provincial Park campsites will open April 15, followed by northern and western region campgrounds on April 16. Whiteshell Provincial Park provides a four-season outdoor experience, featuring rushing rivers, clear lakes, sandy beaches, and extensive forested areas.
Whiteshell Provincial Park also features a meteorite lake for swimming and scuba diving and provides trails and natural landscapes that offer recreational opportunities for families and visitors seeking both adventure and relaxation.
The final group of sites, including Bitch Point, Camp Morton, Hecla, and Hnausa Beach, will be available April 17.
Each day’s reservations will open at 7 a.m. and can be made online or by phone.
A new availability notification feature will alert campers when sites matching their selected criteria become open. The feature is designed to help users track openings without repeatedly checking the booking system.
The province is also implementing a CA$10 cancellation fee for reservations canceled four or more days before arrival. Cancellations within three days of arrival will be charged one night’s camping fee.
The staged rollout aims to manage demand and provide a smoother booking experience for high-traffic parks.
Manitoba’s 93 provincial parks protect more than four million hectares of diverse landscapes, offering visitors the chance to explore the province’s rich natural and cultural heritage. From dense forests to expansive prairie parklands, these parks provide a variety of settings for outdoor recreation, education, and nature appreciation.
