Summer Glamping Offered at Sussex’s All England Jumping Course

A new glamping option will be available at the All England Jumping Course at Hickstead in Sussex this summer, offering visitors the opportunity to stay on-site during major equestrian events.

Organizers have partnered with Bumble Bell Tent Hire to provide 5-meter bell tents that range from basic unfurnished setups to fully furnished accommodations with boutique hotel-style amenities.

The glamping experience will be offered during the Al Shira’aa Hickstead Derby Meeting in June and the Royal International Horse Show in July. Guests will be able to select accommodations based on their camping experience and comfort preferences, from minimalist tents suitable for seasoned campers to luxury setups that include full furnishings.

Hickstead Director Lizzie Bunn told More Radio that the initiative will allow visitors to stay “right in the heart of the action” and create a “luxury staycation” experience. Organizers anticipate strong demand and recommend early bookings for those interested in reserving tents.

The introduction of on-site glamping at Hickstead reflects a wider trend in the outdoor hospitality and event sectors, where temporary accommodation options are being leveraged to enhance visitor experiences and capture additional revenue streams.

For event operators and glamping providers, such initiatives illustrate the potential benefits of integrating accommodations with major events. Offering varied levels of comfort can appeal to a broader audience, while strategic partnerships with tent hire companies can reduce operational risk and setup costs.

From a business perspective, early promotion and clear communication regarding availability, pricing, and amenities will be essential to maximize occupancy and ensure a smooth guest experience.

Event-focused glamping can also serve as a testing ground for hospitality operators considering permanent or seasonal expansions, providing insights into guest preferences, logistics, and demand patterns.

This model, which combines outdoor hospitality with high-profile events, may become increasingly relevant as the sector seeks new ways to engage consumers and diversify offerings, particularly in locations with strong event tourism potential.
