IHG Hotels & Resorts has confirmed the signing of Six Senses Camp Korongo, a 480-acre resort and branded residential community near Kanab in southern Utah. The property, set to open in 2029, represents an expansion of the Six Senses brand in the Americas.
Located in southern Utah, the development will feature 41 luxury tented pavilions and 12 branded residences, designed to integrate with the surrounding juniper forest and canyon landscape.
The resort is positioned near several national landmarks, including Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Arches National Park. The location is intended to support outdoor-focused travel experiences such as hiking, canyoneering, and stargazing.
A Six Senses Spa will also be part of the development, offering wellness programs aimed at physical restoration and personal reflection.
Jolyon Bulley, chief executive officer, Americas, at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “Six Senses Camp Korongo will blend the brand’s distinctive ethos in a truly unique location, while supporting our growth ambitions across the Americas. As outdoor exploration, nature and wellness continue to shape luxury travel, this desert sanctuary represents a compelling addition to the portfolio.”
According to Travelling For Business, the project is being developed in partnership with Canyon Global Partners, marking IHG’s first collaboration with the California-based developer. Architecture and design will be led by Luxury Frontiers, which specializes in sustainable design in remote and environmentally sensitive locations.
Neil Palmer, chief operating officer of Six Senses, stated, “This project embodies our approach to resorts and residences as places of genuine connection with the landscape. Guests and owners will share a rhythm shaped by nature, delivering hospitality that restores as much as it inspires, while respecting southern Utah’s unique environment.”
Six Senses Camp Korongo is part of a broader expansion strategy in the Americas, with upcoming properties in Mexico, Belize, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. The development is positioned to reflect a trend toward experiential luxury travel that emphasizes natural environments and wellness offerings.
For industry professionals, the project illustrates opportunities in high-end outdoor hospitality that combine lodging, wellness, and immersive nature experiences, highlighting the importance of location, sustainable design, and guest-focused programming in attracting premium travelers.
