Jeremy Johnson, associate director of OEM business development at Lightspeed, has spent more than two decades advancing technology adoption in the powersports and RV industries.

Now focused on the RV sector, he works to streamline dealer operations through Lightspeed’s Dealer Management System and strengthen industry partnerships.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, Johnson began his career in 2000 with 50 Below’s Sales and Marketing team, selling websites to dealers for brands like Honda and Polaris. “I sold many dealers their first websites, and I helped them register their first domain name,” he said, recalling the early days of digital adoption in the retail sector.

As his career progressed, Johnson transitioned into customer retention and OEM program management. This included securing manufacturer endorsements and co-op opportunities, responsibilities that would become central to his future roles.

“It was the beginning of what I’m still doing today,” he said.

Following the acquisition of 50 Below by ARI Network Services, Johnson remained in a similar capacity for 19 years.

He later joined Digital Marketing Solutions, where he helped launch Trade Cycle, a trade evaluation tool designed to increase customer engagement for RV and marine dealers.

A brief stint in the automotive space preceded his move to Lightspeed. Johnson joined the company after a conversation at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas led to an unexpected job opportunity. “They were calling me for a referral. As it turns out, I referred myself,” he said.

At Lightspeed, Johnson is focused on helping RV manufacturers and dealers integrate with the company’s dealer management system, which simplifies tasks such as inventory intake and information exchange with OEM portals.

The company’s solutions include expanded VIN decoding capabilities and integrated parts pricing.

Johnson pointed to recent collaborations with manufacturers like Forest River, Alliance RV, and Jayco as examples of how Lightspeed is reducing manual data entry and improving pricing accuracy across sales and service operations.

Beyond technology, Johnson is deeply engaged in the RV industry’s broader initiatives. He serves on the RV Dealers Association’s Convention and Expo Committee.

He is also an active member of the RV Industry Association (RVIA), where he supports advocacy efforts and contributes to the market information committee.

In addition to attending the Association’s Leadership Conference, Johnson continues to strengthen relationships through visits to Elkhart, IN, and participation in key events.

He recently toured the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) and met with multiple manufacturers to discuss ongoing partnerships.
