Silver Lake Resort Announces New Leadership Team

Silver Lake Resort located on the shores of Silver Lake with stunning Mt. St. Helens in the backdrop has announced the introduction of a new leadership team.

The resort, known for its RV, motel, cabin, and tent camping facilities, has been a key player in the outdoor hospitality industry for over 70 years. Located conveniently an hour from Portland and two hours from Seattle, it offers various amenities, including fishing and boating on Silver Lake.

Ember Crippen, with a background as a kindergarten teacher and a childhood spent on an orchard, aims to build upon the resort’s legacy. Her focus is on maintaining the resort’s history while introducing new features to attract a wider audience of campers.

Alan Kahn, who financed his college education as a magician and is a middle school science teacher, plans to enhance the resort’s appeal to school and scout groups. He intends to introduce educational and entertaining elements, focusing on science and magic programs, leveraging the resort’s proximity to the Mount St. Helens Visitors Center and Johnston Ridge Observatory.

The new owners plan to invest in upgrading the resort’s infrastructure and facilities. These enhancements are aimed at ensuring Silver Lake Resort remains a preferred destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Silver Lake Resort’s amenities, which include a dock for fishing and boating, watercraft rental options, a store, a meeting room, and space for group activities, are expected to be improved under the new leadership.

For the campground and outdoor hospitality industry, this change signifies the potential impact of new management on traditional outdoor spaces. The focus on family-oriented and educational activities, along with infrastructure improvements, are strategies that can be adopted by other operators in the industry.

The transition at Silver Lake Resort reflects the evolving landscape of the outdoor hospitality sector. By integrating educational and entertainment aspects, the resort is setting a new standard for guest experiences in outdoor accommodations.

The new ownership at Silver Lake Resort marks a pivotal development in the campground and outdoor hospitality industry. With Crippen and Kahn leading, the resort is expected to offer an enriched camping experience, blending tradition with innovation, and influencing the standards for outdoor hospitality operators.
