The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation announced that Natural Bridge and First Landing State Parks have been recognized in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2024. This accolade honors businesses that consistently receive reviews, placing them among the top 10% of listings worldwide on Tripadvisor.
First Landing State Park Manager Bruce Widener expressed gratitude that guests enjoyed the park and appreciated their positive feedback. “We are more than just a beach getaway as we offer self-guided and ranger-led programs that allow guests to explore the park and its exceptional habitat,” Widener said.
Natural Bridge State Park has also been recognized. Natural Bridge State Park Manager Jim Jones highlighted that the park’s iconic landmark bridge, scenic hiking trails, massive visitor center, and discovery center make it a great destination getaway for guests.
“We thank our guests for raving about our park as we take pride in working closely with visitors to ensure they have a positive experience,” Jones said.
According to a press release, this award is determined by feedback from visitors who provided authentic, first-hand reviews on Tripadvisor over the past 12 months.
John Boris, chief growth officer at Tripadvisor, extended congratulations to First Landing and Natural Bridge State Park for their recognition in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2024.
He noted that the Travelers’ Choice honors businesses that consistently exhibit a commitment to hospitality excellence, indicating that the parks have made a memorable impact on visitors.

Virginia State Parks offers a wide array of programs, events, and activities across its 43 parks, which include thousands of campsites, hundreds of cabins, over 700 miles of trails, and easy access to Virginia’s major waterways.
