Virginia campground operators will convene February 24 at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation for a Virginia Campground Association (VCA) member meeting focused on practical strategies to boost bookings, share marketing insights, and discuss industry updates.
The session is designed as a hands-on forum for operators to exchange ideas and take actionable steps back to their campgrounds.
The meeting, beginning at 10 a.m., emphasizes peer-to-peer learning and collaboration, with organizers noting the discussion will be free of bylaws or administrative business.
According to an email from VCA, attendees will explore ways to increase midweek and shoulder season reservations, share marketing approaches currently proving effective, and examine trends shaping the campground industry in Virginia.
Lunch will be provided, allowing attendees additional time for networking and idea-sharing. VCA encourages members to bring colleagues who may benefit from the association’s programs and resources. RSVP is requested via email or online registration.
“No bylaws talk. Just useful discussion and takeaways. The more the merrier! If you have a colleague who would benefit from VCA Membership, bring them along,” VCA states.
The event will feature a keynote presentation from the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250), highlighting the significance of the Commonwealth’s upcoming 250th anniversary of Independence.
The session will examine the opportunities the commemorative year presents for organizations involved in tourism, travel, and visitor experiences.
The gathering is described as “a practical, member-driven conversation on challenges and opportunities” for campground operators, reinforcing the association’s commitment to providing actionable guidance tailored to the needs of its members.
The meeting also offers a unique chance for operators to hear firsthand from peers about strategies that have yielded results, creating a collaborative environment that blends shared experience with professional development.
The February 24 session continues VCA’s broader effort to support the state’s campground community by facilitating information exchange, practical advice, and connections.
