Virginia Beach KOA Holiday has been named the 2025 Owned Asset of KOA (OAK) Campground of the Year by Kampgrounds of America (KOA). The recognition, announced during KOA’s annual Convention and Expo in San Antonio, Texas, highlights the campground’s exceptional operational performance, guest satisfaction, and commitment to the KOA brand.
Keith Stachurski, the general manager since 2011, leads the Virginia Beach KOA Holiday team, supported by assistant manager Paula Hobaugh. Under Stachurski’s leadership, the campground has cultivated a dedicated and long-standing team. This year, the campground achieved a 4% year-over-year increase in gross profit and a 10% rise in Net Operating Income.
The campground’s dedication to guest satisfaction was further demonstrated by a five-point increase in its Net Promoter Score (NPS), an industry-wide metric for customer loyalty and satisfaction. Ending the season at 76 NPS, the Virginia Beach KOA Holiday achieved a designation recognized as “World Class.”
According to a press release, KOA’s president and CEO, Toby O’Rourke, praised the team’s accomplishments, noting their ability to balance operational and financial achievements with a consistent focus on delivering high-quality guest experiences.
“Keith and his team truly exemplify the KOA spirit in all that they do,” said O’Rourke. “Their dedication to delivering a premier guest experience has earned them World Class designation by NPS standards. KOA is truly fortunate to have such outstanding individuals representing our brand.”
The recognition extends beyond the local team, acknowledging the contributions of KOA’s broader support network. Regional Vice President Kathy Holland, Regional Revenue Manager Laron Donahue, Regional Marketing Manager Bridget Trowbridge, and KOA Development Project Manager Kathy Zach were instrumental in providing strategic guidance and support.
Virginia Beach KOA Holiday features 349 sites, offering a mix of Deluxe Cabins, pull-thru patio sites, and premium tent options. These accommodations cater to a diverse range of guests, reflecting KOA’s commitment to accessibility and quality. Enhancements to the campground this year included the addition of a new pool, a splash pad, a lazy river, and a waterfall, providing visitors with upgraded amenities designed to enhance their stay.
A redesigned camp store, an upgraded laundry facility, a remodeled bathhouse, and new Paw Pen sites further illustrate the campground’s commitment to improving the guest experience.
