Bryce Canyon National Park Unveils Spring 2024 Visitor Guide for Seamless Outdoor Experience

Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah announced its visitor information for the spring season of 2024 for outdoor enthusiasts, showing updates on facilities, concessions, and shuttle services. The park, known for its unique geological structures and vast natural beauty, aims to offer a seamless experience for visitors during the spring months.

According to a press release, starting April 5, the Bryce Canyon Shuttle will commence operations to alleviate traffic congestion at popular viewpoints and trailheads, enhancing the visitor experience.

The shuttle service, included with park admission, will run daily from 8:00 a.m., with varying final bus times throughout the season. Until October 20, the shuttle’s schedule will adapt to seasonal demands, with the last departure at 6:15 p.m. during spring and fall, and extending to 8:10 p.m. from May 10 to September 22.

To further facilitate visitor access, free parking is available at the shuttle station in Bryce Canyon City. Restrictions are in place for vehicles 23 feet or longer, which are not allowed to park at Bryce Amphitheater viewpoints during shuttle operating hours.

Camping options within the park are adapting to seasonal changes. North Campground will shift from first-come, first-served to reservation-based camping from May 18 through October 7, with reservations available six months in advance. Sunset Campground will reopen for first-come, first-served camping on April 15, transitioning to reservation-based camping from May 18 through October 14. It will revert to first-come, first-served camping on October 15, before closing for the winter on November 1. Group site reservations at Sunset Campground are open from May 20 through October 14, on a 12-month rolling basis.

Reservations for both North and Sunset Campgrounds can be made through Recreation.gov.

Concession facilities within the park are also preparing for the spring season. The General Store at Sunrise Point is currently operating from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours and additional services, including shower and laundry facilities, beginning March 27. On May 1, the store will switch to its summer hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Lodge at Bryce Canyon is set to reopen on March 27, with reservations for lodging available online or by phone. The Lodge’s dining room will offer meals throughout the day, and Valhalla Pizzeria is expected to reopen in early May.

Additionally, the park’s historic service station will reopen this spring, offering e-bike and bicycle rentals. The reopening date is dependent on weather conditions, and the adjacent Shared-Use Path provides 18 miles of paved access for hikers and bikers, connecting Inspiration Point to Red Canyon.
