THOR Industries Encourages Earth Day Cleanup with Pick Up America Initiative

On Earth Day, THOR Industries, the global leader in RV manufacturing, calls upon campers, RVers, and outdoor enthusiasts to join or renew their commitment to the Pick Up America initiative, a program focused on maintaining clean and pristine public lands for generations to come.

Established in 2019, Pick Up America exemplifies THOR’s dedication to environmental stewardship by promoting responsible conduct among outdoor lovers. Since its launch, the program has seen pledges to remove over 280 tons of trash from public lands throughout the United States.

As the popularity of outdoor recreation, such as RVing and camping, continues to grow, the need for effective waste management and environmental conservation becomes increasingly crucial.

As per the News & Insights report of the RV Industry Association, THOR Industries aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving clean outdoor spaces and mobilize communities to take action.

Earth Day is an important reminder that we all share the responsibility of preserving our outdoor spaces for ourselves and future generations,” said Bob Martin, president and CEO of THOR Industries, Inc.

As more people engage in outdoor recreation, we all must contribute to keeping our public lands clean. We hope the Pick Up America program inspires action on Earth Day and every day.”

In pursuit of its 2023 pledge goal, THOR Industries seeks to remove 80 tons of trash from public lands. The Pick Up America program’s success relies on the involvement of campers, RVers, and outdoor enthusiasts across the country committed to making a difference in their local communities.

To participate, individuals can visit PickUpAmerica.com to make their pledge and join the effort to clean up public lands. Participants are advised to adhere to local safety guidelines, wear gloves while picking up trash, supervise children during the process, and dispose of waste responsibly.

To show support for the initiative and inspire others, participants can document their “pick up” efforts by posting on social media using the hashtag #PickUpAmerica, offering a chance for their stories to be featured on the Pick Up America website.

By committing to the Pick Up America program this Earth Day, outdoor lovers can play a role in preserving public lands, ensuring that campgrounds, parks, and recreational areas remain clean and enjoyable for all.
