The Shyft Group Selects Scott Ocholik as Interim CFO

The Shyft Group, a North American company in specialty vehicle manufacturing, announced that Scott Ocholik has assumed the role of interim chief financial officer beginning January 1.

The transition follows the resignation of Jon Douyard, who served as the company’s CFO. Shyft’s Board of Directors has launched a search for a permanent replacement, considering both internal and external candidates.

The company’s leadership emphasized Ocholik’s experience and deep familiarity with Shyft’s financial operations as key reasons for his selection.

According to a press release, John Dunn, president and CEO of The Shyft Group, highlighted Ocholik’s capabilities, stating, “Scott has been a key member of our leadership team, and his financial expertise, operational knowledge, and steady leadership make him well-suited to step into this interim role.”

Dunn added that maintaining stability during this transition period is a priority as the company continues to execute its strategic initiatives.

Shyft’s decision to appoint Ocholik reflects its broader focus on ensuring continuity within its executive team. The company has positioned itself as a player in the specialty vehicle sector, catering to a diverse customer base that includes last-mile delivery providers, government entities, and utility companies.

Ocholik expressed enthusiasm for his new role. “I am excited to step into this role at a pivotal time for Shyft,” Ocholik said. “I look forward to working closely with the team as we advance our strategic objectives.”

Since joining Shyft in 2019 as vice president and corporate controller, Ocholik has played a role in overseeing the company’s financial reporting and compliance functions. In 2022, he was promoted to chief accounting officer.

Before his tenure at Shyft, Ocholik held executive positions at Gestamp North America, where he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

The Shyft Group’s operations span North America, with approximately 3,000 employees and contractors working across 19 locations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Its facilities are strategically located in key states, including Arizona, California, Florida, and Michigan, to support its manufacturing and assembly needs.

Shyft’s brands, such as Utilimaster, Blue Arc EV Solutions, and Spartan RV Chassis, are also known in their respective markets for delivering durable, high-quality vehicles.
