In the heart of Texas, nestled along the serene Guadalupe River, lies a camping resort boasting its waterfront views, variety of amenities, and its welcoming community.
Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country, a property under Northgate Resorts, has been honored with the RVshare Campies Award for the Best Waterfront Campground. This accolade is not just a testament to the resort’s picturesque location but also to the hard work, innovation, and dedication of its team.
“We are all really honored to win this award. We have put so much hard work into this property over the past few years and means to much to be recognized as a top campground,” says Tessa McCrackin, chief marketing officer at Northgate Resorts.
“From the beginning, we set out to build something that campers couldn’t wait to tell their friends about – a truly unique and stand-out experience in the camp-resort space. It is really rewarding to see those dreams come to fruition.”
What sets Camp Fimfo apart from other waterfront campgrounds? According to McCrackin, it’s a combination of the property’s natural beauty and the resort’s top-tier accommodations and amenities.
“Being right on the Guadalupe River with access to tubing, fishing, and all its natural beauty, we had a great raw piece of land to work with. On top of that, we added top of the line accommodations and amenities plus intentional design touches that really make it look and feel different,” McCrackin told Modern Campground in an e-mail interview.
Guest reviews echo this sentiment. One camper raves about the “cool campground for the whole family,” highlighting the zip lines, river access, putt-putt golf, and the adjacent WhiteWater amphitheater. Another guest appreciated the resort’s amenities, especially the pools and river access, stating, “The staff was very friendly and accommodating.”
With such glowing feedback, it’s no wonder Camp Fimfo caught the eye of the RVshare Campies Award committee. But what does this recognition mean for the future of the resort?
“We have been lucky to be recognized a few times since we opened,” McCrackin noted. “We hope this leads to more people in Texas and beyond learning about Camp Fimfo and what we have to offer!”
According to McCrackin, while the park isn’t disclosing detailed expansion plans at the moment, there’s anticipation for future developments. She hinted at the introduction of more Camp Fimfos locations, noting that a second site is already operational in Waco.
Northgate Resorts, the powerhouse behind Camp Fimfo, is no stranger to the outdoor hospitality industry. As the largest franchisee of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Parks and creators of the Camp Fimfo brand, they have a diverse portfolio of high-quality camping options tailored for the outdoor enthusiast.
Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country offers a range of accommodations, from back-in or pull-thru red carpet RV sites to cozy riverview cabins. Each site boasts amenities like a concrete pad, full-hookups, charcoal grill, fire ring, and picnic table, ensuring guests have a comfortable and memorable stay.
