RV Tech Training to be Offered at Texas Campground Owners Conference

The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) will host an RV technician training session on April 28, in Conroe, Texas.

Organized in collaboration with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), the eight-hour course will take place the day before TACO’s annual Spring Meeting and Trade Show, which is scheduled for April 29-30.

“This is a great opportunity for campground operators to learn more about the technical aspects of RVs as we kick off our annual Campground Owners Meeting and Trade Show,” said TACO CEO Brian Schaeffer.

“This class will help operators better assist their customers, expand their educational opportunities, and provide a better overall camping experience,” he added.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the training will be led by RVTI Director of Education Bill Stewart and will provide hands-on instruction covering key RV maintenance topics.

Participants will learn about basic electricity testing, circuit breaker troubleshooting, cable TV and Wi-Fi setup, generator switches, water and LP systems, HVAC maintenance, and chassis-related issues.

“Park operators are often the first people to tend to a guest experiencing technical difficulties with their RV,” said RVTI Executive Director Curt Hemmeler.

“This session will teach the basics from RVTI’s gold standard RV technician training curriculum and will help get guests safely back on the road and enhance campground customer service,” he added.

Similar training sessions have been hosted by RVTI in partnership with industry associations, including the Carolinas Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds and the RV Women’s Alliance

TACO’s Spring Meeting and Trade Show will follow the training, featuring industry updates, networking opportunities, and vendor exhibits. The annual event serves as a key gathering for campground owners and operators to explore new trends, share best practices, and discuss business strategies.

The training session will also take place at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Conroe, Texas, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The registration fee is $50. Campground operators interested in participating are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.
