KCN Campgrounds Acquires Dallas/Arlington KOA Holiday

KCN Campgrounds has acquired the Dallas/Arlington KOA Holiday, expanding its portfolio within the Kampgrounds of America (KOA) system with a year-round campground located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The property, situated at 2715 S. Cooper in Arlington, Texas, operates year-round and serves travelers visiting Arlington attractions and the broader Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The acquisition adds a metro-accessible campground in one of the country’s busiest travel markets, according to company officials.

According to a press release, Kevin Thueson, CEO of KCN Campgrounds, said the location positions the campground to serve a wide range of visitors.

“Dallas-Fort Worth is currently one of the most bustling travel markets in the country, and this KOA is uniquely positioned to welcome everyone from weekend vacationers to event travelers and road-trippers,” Thueson said.

He added that the company plans to maintain the campground’s existing atmosphere while making operational investments.

“We’re excited to build on the strong foundation already here, keeping the campground’s welcoming feel while investing in thoughtful improvements that elevate the guest experience and reflect KOA’s trusted standards,” he said.

KCN Campgrounds acquires and manages destination campgrounds within the KOA system, focusing on operational standards and long-term management. The Dallas/Arlington KOA Holiday becomes part of more than 500 KOA campgrounds open to the public across the United States and Canada.

According to KOA’s annual Camping and Outdoor Hospitality Report, campers contributed $61 billion to local economies in 2024. The report states that the average camper spent $200 per day while camping.

It also found that 27% of campers are interested in visiting small towns, while another 27% are drawn to food tourism.

The Dallas / Arlington KOA Holiday includes full-hookup RV sites, deluxe cabins with full bathrooms and upgraded RV sites featuring private KOA Patio spaces with outdoor furnishings and grills.

On-site amenities include a swimming pool, playgrounds, bike rentals, a KampK9 dog park, Wi-Fi, cable television, a Kamping Kitchen, propane and group gathering space.

KOA, which operates under the KOA brand and Terramor Outdoor Resorts, has more than 60 years of experience in outdoor hospitality.
