Texas’s largest towable RV dealer, Fun Town RV, partnered with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) to give their RV service technicians the chance to participate in RVTI’s gold standard training and curriculum, as per the RV Industry Association’s News & Insights report.
“Fun Town is committed to training its technicians and looks to provide excellent service to its customers at each of its locations across the country,” said RVTI Executive Director Curtis Hemmeler.
“The industry is continuing to address the RV service technician shortage, and Fun Town’s partnership with the RV Technical Institute helps us fill in this gap. Their team continues to make great contributions to the industry, and our team at the RV Technical Institute is excited about the opportunity to work with them.”
Fun Town RV COO Jeff England said they put their customers and employees first in everything they do.
“Partnering with RV Technical Institute allows us to take our employees’ training and development to another level while continuing to exceed our customers’ service expectations,” he said.
The program is available through a location subscription, which means Fun Town’s technicians can train in person at RVTI’s facility in Elkhart, IN, or through RVTI’s online course. The training initially started at one Fun Town location and, after it proved successful, was then expanded to each of the company’s 14 locations.
“Being able to offer training at each Fun Town RV location has made it convenient for our employees as well as for the Service Management,” said Amberly Bersin, Fun Town’s training manager.
Bersin said their mission is to give the best experience possible to their customers while providing the best opportunities for improvement to their employees, which RVTI helps them accomplish both.
“Our expanded partnership with RVTI amplifies our commitment to growing the careers and knowledge base of our 400+ service employees,” said Fun Town RV Director of Human Resources Nora Fournier.
