Starlink Launches Global Roaming Internet: High-Speed, Low-Latency

SpaceX‘s subsidiary, Starlink, has recently entered into the testing phase of its latest offering, the Global Roaming service, promising to bring high-speed, low-latency internet connection to almost anywhere on land in the world.

The Global Roaming service will cost $200 per month in addition to the $599 Starlink Kit satellite dish, according to a report by GSMarena.

The satellite-based internet service aims to cover more territories compared to the current RV plan, which costs $135 per month and is limited to use on the same continent.

However, the experimental nature of the new offering also means that users might experience periods of “poor connectivity or none at all,” according to the memo.

The widespread availability of the Global Roaming service is contingent on regulatory approvals, which Starlink is still waiting for across various countries.

Despite the uncertainties surrounding the new service, Starlink’s RV plan has been well-received by users, allowing them to use their setups abroad.

The Global Roaming service offers an exciting new opportunity for those in need of reliable internet connection, especially in remote areas where traditional internet services may not be available.

With its focus on bringing high-speed internet to even the most remote corners of the world, Starlink continues to position itself as a leader in satellite-based internet services.

As the company waits for regulatory approvals, it will be interesting to see how the Global Roaming service develops and how it may change the landscape of internet connectivity worldwide.
