Spacious Skies Campgrounds announced the availability of its winter camping options for the 2024-2025 season. Eight of its campgrounds, spread across various states including New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia, will remain open throughout the winter months.
The company aims to offer a more relaxed experience for campers, promoting longer stays with simplified travel and reduced rates. Ali Rasmussen, co-founder of Spacious Skies Campgrounds, highlighted the appeal of winter camping, emphasizing the slower pace and the benefits of seasonal rates that ease the planning process for guests.
Among the eight locations, Spacious Skies Bear Den in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, is temporarily closed due to damage sustained from Hurricane Helene. Repairs are underway, and the company plans to reopen the campground once all necessary work is completed. Meanwhile, the other campgrounds continue to operate, offering opportunities for campers seeking a winter retreat.
Spacious Skies Campgrounds is also introducing themed weekends throughout the winter season, providing guests with various activities centered around unique themes. Events such as “Prehistoric Park,” “Music Mania,” “Gathering with Gratitude,” “Winterfest,” and “Winter Wonderland” are planned, creating engaging experiences for visitors.
For those interested in extended stays, the campgrounds offer monthly and seasonal rates. Spacious Skies Campgrounds has provided detailed dates for each location’s winter availability. For example, Spacious Skies French Pond in Henniker, New Hampshire, will open from November 1 to May 1, 2025, while other locations, such as Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views in Luray, Virginia, will be accessible until April 17, 2025.
Spacious Skies Sandy Run in Fayetteville, North Carolina, began its winter season on October 1, with operations continuing until March 31, 2025. The same opening date applies to Spacious Skies Savannah Oaks in Savannah, Georgia, which also offers winter camping until the end of March 2025. These campgrounds, along with others like Belle Ridge in Monterey, Tennessee, and Peach Haven in Gaffney, South Carolina, provide various winter timelines, allowing guests flexibility when planning their visits.
