Rapid City/Black Hills KOA, a camping destination in South Dakota, announced plans to construct a new registration and general store facility to better serve its guests. The new building, expected to be completed by late 2025, is designed to address the growing demand at the campground, promising improved conveniences and an expanded range of services.
The planned facility will provide year-round services, including an enlarged general store, upgraded registration area, restrooms, showers, and laundry amenities. A dedicated kitchen space will be added, allowing for various events and gatherings.
Recreational Adventures Co. (RAC), the organization managing the Rapid City KOA, expressed enthusiasm for the project through Vice President Chris Cutler. “We’re thrilled to build a new Registration and General Store building at this property,” Cutler said in a press release.
He emphasized that the new facility will serve as the heart of the campground, enhancing the arrival experience and making guests feel instantly welcomed. RAC aims to ensure that each aspect of the campground experience resonates with a sense of hospitality and dedication to guest satisfaction.
The project also represents a significant step for the campground as it seeks to attract a broader audience, including corporate groups and those planning special gatherings. The new meeting spaces and modern conveniences will be ideal for hosting events such as team-building retreats and small celebrations.
Located minutes from iconic landmarks like Mount Rushmore, the Rapid City/Black Hills KOA has long served as a gateway for campers eager to explore South Dakota’s natural beauty.
