The RV Industry Association’s (RVIA) latest survey of manufacturers revealed an increase in total RV shipments for May 2024, recording 33,150 units. This marks a 7.2% increase compared to the 30,919 units shipped in May 2023.
RVIA President & CEO Craig Kirby explained that as the summer RV travel season begins, 45 million Americans are expected to make lasting memories with friends and family by going RVing.
“Shipments are continuing to show moderate increases over last year as units head to dealerships across the country where consumers will find an RV to fit every budget and lifestyle,” Kirby said in a News & Insights report of RVIA.
According to RVIA’s RV shipment summary, towable RVs, primarily conventional travel trailers, saw a 13.5% increase from last May, totaling 30,177 shipments. Meanwhile, the motorhome segment experienced a downturn, with shipments declining by 31.2% to 2,973 units compared to the same month last year.
