The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has released a video explaining the safety requirements and inspection procedures behind its association seal, highlighting more than 500 safety-related requirements and more than 2,000 unannounced inspections conducted annually.
The video is designed to communicate the seal’s meaning to industry stakeholders and prospective RV buyers, outlining the safety standards manufacturers follow during vehicle production and the inspections used to verify compliance.
It covers requirements for electrical, plumbing, heating, fire safety and life safety systems, presenting an overview of the standards applicable to RV manufacturing.
The video also features RVIA’s team of full-time inspectors, who conduct unannounced inspections throughout the year. Inspectors audit RV units at various stages of construction along production lines to verify that vehicles comply with applicable requirements.
The association said the video illustrates how manufacturers can compete on vehicle design and floor plans while adhering to standardized safety protocols.
The release provides dealerships, manufacturers and campgrounds with material they can share through digital and customer-facing channels to explain the seal and the safety standards associated with it.
Dealerships can incorporate the video into digital showroom displays, model overview pages and new-owner orientation portals. These placements are intended to help prospective buyers and customers understand the seal’s significance when evaluating or taking delivery of an RV.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, manufacturers can share the video through corporate websites, owner welcome kits and social media channels to communicate their compliance with the association’s safety requirements.
Campgrounds can also share the video with arriving guests to explain the common safety standards applied across participating RV manufacturing operations.
The video focuses on the inspection process and the requirements that underpin the association seal, connecting those standards with the manufacturing process before an RV leaves the factory.
