The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) recently conducted a dealer on-site training session with NTP-STAG at the company’s Dallas location, providing Level 1 instruction aimed at strengthening product knowledge and improving sales effectiveness among the distributor’s sales team.
The training was led by Institute trainer Mike Anderson as part of the RV Technical Institute’s Dealer On-Site Training program, which sends instructors directly to qualifying dealership locations instead of requiring technicians to travel to the Institute’s facility in Elkhart, Indiana.
According to the institute, Dealer On-Site Training is available to dealerships registered as a Location Subscriber or Authorized Learning Partner+.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on May 21, Halle Howard, account manager for the RVTI, said the collaboration with NTP-STAG reflects the organization’s broader effort to strengthen workforce development across the RV industry.
“Our partnership with NTP-STAG to deliver the Level 1 course is a direct investment in fostering professional excellence,” Howard said.
“By equipping their sales team with a foundational expertise that drives dealership sales, we continue our mission to support the RV industry’s incredible talent. We look forward to empowering even more individuals through future dealer on-site courses,” Howard added.
Dave Surgeson, district sales manager for NTP-STAG, said the training improved both the performance and confidence of the company’s RV sales team.
“Your organization delivered exceptional training that elevated the performance and confidence of our RV sales team,” Surgeson said. “Mike’s professionalism, clarity, and deep industry knowledge made the sessions truly impactful. We appreciate the value you brought and look forward to continued collaboration.”
The Level 1 training is designed to provide current and aspiring RV technicians with foundational knowledge of propane, electrical, plumbing, appliance, body, generator and chassis systems. Students who complete the training demonstrate the skills needed to prepare an RV for customer delivery and verify the operation of all major components.
The institute also outlined its hybrid Level 2 dealer on-site training option, which combines an 11-week online learning program with a final week of hands-on instruction conducted at the dealership by an Institute trainer.
According to the organization, hands-on portions of both Level 1 and Level 2 training may be adjusted depending on the materials available at the dealership location.
