The RV Industry Association (RVIA) will launch its inaugural RV Safety Education Week April 4-10, 2027, with a nationwide consumer education campaign focused on vehicle safety features, pre-trip inspections and safe operating practices ahead of the spring buying and travel season.
The annual campaign will take place during the first full week of April each year, establishing a recurring period for the association and industry members to communicate safety standards and educate current and prospective RV owners.
The initiative is designed to reach consumers as RV shows transition into spring deliveries and buyers prepare for travel. The association said the campaign will complement its fall educational efforts, which focus on aligning industry professionals, by directing the spring program toward consumer awareness.
The association’s PR Committee and Standards Steering Committee will develop promotional toolkits, social media assets and co-branded materials for manufacturers, dealers and campgrounds in the coming months.
Industry members will be encouraged to coordinate promotions, hold educational events at dealership lots and campgrounds, and share safety messaging through their own communication channels.
The campaign will address industry standards and vehicle safety, including features and systems that owners should understand before operating an RV. Its planned materials will provide information on inspections before trips and safe operating practices.
The association also released two resources intended to explain the meaning and value of its seal to industry stakeholders and prospective buyers.
A new video presents the safety work conducted before an RV leaves the factory, including more than 500 individual safety-related requirements covering electrical, plumbing, heating, and fire and life safety systems.
The association also introduced a one-page handout titled “Significance of the RV Industry Association Seal.” The document is intended for sales teams, service desks and other front-line staff to explain the seal and the safety requirements it represents.
