RoverPass announced the launch of a new Queue & Pre-Sale for Reservation Launches feature designed to manage high-traffic booking periods for campgrounds and RV parks when reservations first open.
The digital waiting room system is intended to help operators handle surges in demand during reservation launches, including seasonal openings, membership sales, site renewals, and event bookings.
Developed in partnership with Queue-Fair, a company that created digital waiting room technology, the feature introduces queue management tools to the outdoor hospitality sector.
The feature was created to address operational challenges that occur when large numbers of campers attempt to book sites simultaneously.
During peak reservation openings, campground reservation pages can experience heavy traffic, which may lead to slow load times, repeated page refresh attempts by users, and increased inquiries from campers seeking confirmation of bookings.
The system operates in two stages. Before reservations open, campers can join a Pre-Sale Waiting Page, allowing them to enter the queue ahead of the official booking launch. When reservations go live, campers are assigned randomized positions near the front of the line based on early arrival.
Once booking begins, campers are moved into a live queue where they can view their place in line, an estimated wait time, and a progress indicator showing how the queue is moving. The platform also provides messaging that explains the booking process and indicates that reservations are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The feature can be used for multiple high-demand reservation scenarios, including annual membership sales, festival or event bookings, long-term site renewals, and short-term reservation releases.
“We wanted to give parks a tool that just works, something they can turn on for their biggest day of the year without a complicated contract,” Paula Martinez, head of customer success at RoverPass, said in a press release. “Campgrounds deal with enough complexity. Their booking launch day should not add to it.”
The feature is offered as an optional tool for reservation launch events and is priced at a flat fee of $150 per launch without additional per-reservation charges.
RoverPass provides reservation and management software for RV parks, campgrounds, and glamping properties across North America, offering tools for online booking, site management, pricing, and guest communications.
