McBride RV Park in Kingston, Oklahoma, has transformed into a Halloween spectacle. Located along Highway 70A, the park has expanded its displays, becoming a popular stop for locals seeking an eerie and festive experience.
According to Park Manager Charles Thornbrue, the owner’s enthusiasm for Halloween has driven this transformation, with new decorations added annually.
“The big inflatable creatures that were her first year, and then each year after that, she started thinking of new ways. She saw a lot of things [that] she could buy at different hardware stores,” Thornbrue told KTEN News. “She has these things in her mind, and this is how she likes to do it.”
Visitors can explore various themed scenes, including a “pirate’s cove” and “witch’s woods,” alongside werewolves that howl and skeletons that appear to play music in sync with a light display.
McBride RV Park’s Halloween setup has drawn positive attention from the community. Ed Tup, a park resident, noted how the decorations have captivated locals. “When I sit here and watch people drive by, even the adults are curious and they’re stimulated. Some people come back and look at the same thing every day,” Tup shared.
The park’s owner is already planning to bring holiday cheer after Halloween, preparing to decorate for Christmas with a 10-foot abominable snowman and other winter-themed decorations, continuing the tradition of seasonal displays that delight the local community.
