The upcoming American Heartland Theme Park and Resort in Oklahoma has announced plans to include a gigantic campground and RV park with 750 RV spaces and 300 cabins that will be called “Three Ponies RV Park & Campground”.

This development is not only a testament to the growing popularity of RV travel but also highlights the potential for campground and RV park operators to tap into a burgeoning market.

According to a news article by INSIDER, as published by MSN, the American Heartland Theme Park and Resort, set to rival the size of Disney’s Magic Kingdom, will be situated near Grand Lake, Oklahoma, on the iconic Route 66.

The developer, American Heartland, an affiliate of Mansion Entertainment Group, LLC, has enlisted a world-class design team, including former Disney Parks builders and Walt Disney Imagineers, ensuring that the park meets global standards.

The highlight is the expansive 320-acre Three Ponies RV Park & Campground, which is slated to open its doors in 2025, a year ahead of the theme park.

The official website provides a glimpse into what the Three Ponies RV Park & Campground will offer. Located conveniently near Vinita, Oklahoma, just off Route 66 and Interstate 44, this RV park is poised to be a haven for travelers and nature enthusiasts alike. With its promise of serene landscapes and top-notch amenities, it’s clear that the RV park is designed to cater to a diverse range of guests, from families to solo travelers.

Designed by Oklahoma architects ADG Blatt, Three Ponies will feature 750 premier RV spots, each equipped with sanitary, power, cable, water, and Wi-Fi. Comfort stations with showers, laundry, and restrooms will be strategically placed, with ice and soda machines available for convenience.

The campground will also offer 300 cabins, with three types to choose from, all equipped with modern amenities.

Additional amenities include The General Store, offering camping provisions and a coffee bar; the Frontier Hall Dinner Show, which requires reservations; The Clubhouse with a café/bar and swim-up counter; and the Recreation Building, housing the main RV Park restaurant, a fitness room, game room, and arcade. The park will also prioritize pet-friendly amenities and community fire pits for socializing.

“There’s no better place to represent the heart of America than northeast Oklahoma,” said Oklahoma State Sen. Micheal Bergstrom in a press release. He emphasized the transformative potential of this $2 billion investment, which is expected to create over 4,000 jobs and introduce a novel entertainment category to the region.

Larry Wilhite, the CEO of American Heartland, emphasized the strategic decision to incorporate such a vast RV park.“At the crossroads of the heartland, Oklahoma is an attractive location for a family entertainment destination,” he remarked.

“The state’s business-friendly approach and innovative partnership efforts have helped make this possible. We look forward to bringing unforgettable generational experiences to Oklahoma,” Wilhite added.

With the theme park expected to create over 4,000 jobs, as highlighted by Republican Oklahoma State Sen. Micheal Bergstrom, the RV park will undoubtedly contribute to this employment surge, catering to the needs of RV travelers and providing services that enhance their experience.

Kristy Adams, senior executive vice president of sales and marketing for Mansion Entertainment Group, highlighted the park’s potential impact, noting its promise to attract over two million out-of-state visitors to Oklahoma annually.

“American Heartland will be an anchor tourist destination on Route 66 set to attract more than two million out-of-state visitors to Oklahoma each year,” Adams said. “The scale and quality of the development will be unlike anything else in the region, making Vinita, Oklahoma a can’t-miss destination for families around the world.
