Noovo Boosts Camper Van Production with Major Las Vegas Expansion

A Las Vegas-based camper van manufacturer with French origins, Noovo, has recently announced a significant expansion of its operations. The company was founded in March 2020 by three French entrepreneurs—Benoit Lafond, Paul Aubert, and Antoine Alberteau.

According to an article by Las Vegas Review Journal, Noovo specializes in transforming Dodge Promaster vans into compact, fully-equipped camper vans featuring a bed, kitchen, and toilet. Initially, the team had ventured into converting a school bus into a mobile hotel, but with the onset of the pandemic, they pivoted towards creating self-sufficient camper vehicles designed for extended road trips and off-grid living.

The decision to expand operations was facilitated by a move from a 6,000-square-foot space to a sprawling 20,000-square-foot facility located in northwest Las Vegas. This move, completed in May, significantly enhances Noovo’s production capabilities, enabling the company to increase its output from one van per week at the previous location to one van per day at the new site.

Noovo’s strategic choice to base its manufacturing operations in Las Vegas is particularly astute, considering the city’s status as a gateway to the American West. Las Vegas is ideally situated for starting road trips, with proximity to major national parks such as Zion, Death Valley, and the Grand Canyon.

This location not only facilitates easy access for customers, who often fly in to pick up their vans, but also positions Las Vegas as a hub for the broader outdoor recreation industry. This industry has been a boon for Nevada’s economy, contributing over $6 billion in 2022 alone and growing by 25.3% in recent years.

The new facility allows Noovo to offer three different van models, priced between $162,000 and $185,000. These vans are designed for autonomy in the wilderness, equipped with solar-powered battery systems, a heated water system with a 40-gallon tank, and Starlink WiFi, among other amenities. Customers can enjoy the convenience of a mobile, off-grid living setup, ideal for places like Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

As Noovo looks to the future, it plans not only to increase its workforce but also to expand its physical footprint and dealer network across the U.S., targeting high-demand states like Florida and California. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to make its products more accessible nationwide and to cater to a growing clientele of retirees and weekend adventurers.

This expansion by Noovo is indicative of a larger trend within the RV and camper van industry, where demand for mobile, flexible living solutions continues to rise. For the RV industry, particularly businesses involved in manufacturing, retail, and aftermarket services, Noovo’s growth represents both a benchmark and an inspiration.

As the industry evolves, embracing innovations in sustainability and off-grid capabilities will likely become increasingly important. This move by Noovo not only sets a high standard but also underscores the growing economic impact and importance of the RV sector in regional economies like Nevada.
