Nevada City, California’s Inn Town Campground is entering a new phase of ownership as founders Dan and Erin Thiem transfer the campground to Overland Collective, a four-partner hospitality group that plans to maintain existing operations and staff.
The ownership transition comes after the campground was recognized among the top three in the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice awards for Best RV Campground for the fifth consecutive year.
The transfer aligns with their long-standing plan to eventually hand stewardship of the property to new operators after building the campground over the past decade.
“We’ve always considered our time at the Inn Town Campground to be a tremendous opportunity to steward both the land and experience provided to guests and our community,” Dan and Erin Thiem said in a joint statement. “Bringing this dream to life over the past decade has truly been one of the great privileges of our lives.”
The founders said they selected Overland Collective to continue operating the campground. The new ownership group includes Monica Tiscornia, Vance Lancaster, Bobby Souza and Trisha Rogers, who bring backgrounds in hospitality, operations and community-focused development.
According to the announcement, Overland Collective has been working with the Thiems and campground employees ahead of the transition and plans to retain the entire current staff. The group said no operational disruptions or immediate changes to the campground are planned.
“Erin and Dan built something extraordinary—both in terms of the campground itself and their team—and that’s why the Inn Town Campground has the nationally recognized reputation it does,” Monica Tiscornia, CEO of Overland Collective, said in a press release.
Tiscornia said the new ownership team intends to focus on learning existing operations and identifying opportunities to strengthen collaboration with local businesses and the surrounding community while preserving the campground’s established guest experience.
Bobby Souza, CIO of Overland Collective, also said future updates to the property would be approached cautiously.
“We’re carrying the torch, not redirecting it,” Souza said. “Any future enhancements will be thoughtful, grounded in what we learn, and rooted in the character of the park Erin and Dan have built.”
Located on a 15-acre property less than two miles from downtown Nevada City, the Inn Town Campground offers tent camping, RV sites with full hookups and glamping accommodations.
The campground also includes amenities such as a camp store, community kitchen, laundry facilities and communal gathering spaces.
