The campground secured the top spot among ten finalists from across the country due to its proximity to historic Nevada City downtown, diverse camping options and amenities, and access to various outdoor recreation experiences. This recognition follows the Inn Town Campground’s 2022 win in the USA Today 10 Best category of “Best Campground.”

“We’re honored to be recognized in this way, and excited to put Nevada City on the map for those who want to explore all that our community has to offer,” said Erin Thiem, Inn Town Campground co-owner. “We love giving people an opportunity to experience the outdoors and take pride in making their camping experience as easy as possible. That’s why we proudly offer a variety of camping options – from tent sites to sites with full RV hook-ups to fully furnished glamping tents – our goal is to suit different needs and preferences.”

As the Inn Town Campground begins its eighth summer season, guests can expect the return of its full schedule of on-site and nearby events. Regular activities include outdoor family movie nights, lawn games, and kid’s crafting activities, designed to engage family members of all ages.

Free local history hikes led by the Folk Trails Hiking Club will also return this year. These hikes will focus on themes such as women’s history month, historic cemeteries, architecture, trees, and guided walks through downtown Nevada City to learn about the community’s rich history.

Situated less than two miles from downtown Nevada City, the Inn Town Campground provides campers with convenient access to experiences, shops, and restaurants in town. Outdoor adventures nearby include hiking along the South Yuba River, visiting Empire Mine Historic State Park, mountain biking in the Tahoe National Forest, exploring Spenceville Wildlife, and the neighboring Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad museum.

The campground’s on-site facilities cater to guests’ needs, featuring a year-round communal kitchen, seasonal pool, multiple heated washrooms with private indoor and outdoor shower facilities, and more. Leashed dogs (max two) are welcome for an additional fee in tent and RV sites, as well as in select glamping tents.

Glamping tents and tent sites are available from March through November, while sites with hookups are open year-round for those with their own RV or camper. To learn more and book a stay, visit inntowncampground.com.

For RV park owners and operators, this news serves as an example of the importance of offering diverse camping options and amenities to cater to a wide range of visitor preferences. Achieving recognition from reputable sources like USA Today 10 Best can contribute to increased visibility and attract more customers.

In addition, this highlights how incorporating local history and outdoor experiences into a campground’s offerings can create a unique and memorable experience for guests. By incorporating similar strategies, other RV park owners and operators can work towards offering a high-quality guest experience and potentially garner similar recognition in the future.
