C.A.M.P. Aligns Key Fall Meetings with ARVC and COE Conferences This November

In a strategic move that underscores the importance of collaboration in the outdoor hospitality sector, the Campground Association Management Professionals (C.A.M.P.) has announced two pivotal meetings this fall.

These gatherings are set to coincide with two major industry events, ARVC’s Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo in Kansas City, Mo., and the Campground Owners Expo in Branson.

C.A.M.P., a distinguished body comprising the executive directors and CEOs of state campground associations across the nation, has been at the forefront of fostering unity and shared knowledge in the industry.

The first of these meetings is slated for November 6 in Kansas City. One of the highlights of this gathering will be a presentation by Chris Bornemann, the director of government affairs for the RV Industry Association (RVIA).

Bornemann’s talk is expected to shed light on the potential avenues of collaboration with RVIA, a topic of immense relevance to campground owners looking to expand their networks and tap into broader markets.

The Kansas City meeting promises to delve deep into some of the pressing challenges and opportunities facing campground owners today.

Topics include Successfully Navigating the Intersection of Burned Out and Innovation In an industry that’s constantly evolving, understanding how to balance innovation with sustainability is crucial for long-term success.

Insurance, a critical aspect for any business owner, will also be on the agenda. The discussion will revolve around understanding and prioritizing association insurance needs. With specific focus on liability, directors and officers, theft, and events, this segment promises to equip campground owners with the knowledge to safeguard their ventures effectively.

Larry Brownfield, KOA’s assistant vice president for franchise services, is another industry stalwart set to grace the event. Brownfield will be sharing insights on what vendors appreciate and how campground owners can effectively utilize data for their associations. In an age where data-driven decisions can make or break a business, Brownfield’s session is poised to be a game-changer.

Fast forward to November 28, and C.A.M.P. will be in action again, this time in Branson during the Campground Operators Expo. This meeting is set to be a melting pot of ideas, with sessions designed to address a range of issues and opportunities.

A session, titled Throw Me A Bone, led by Lori Severson, promises to be an interactive affair. Here, executives will present challenges they face, and participants will brainstorm solutions. This collaborative approach not only promises solutions but also fosters a sense of community among campground owners.

Nicole L. Rudner, CAE, will be leading a session on The Business of Belonging. Her talk will revolve around the art of making members feel integral to an organization, ensuring they feel valued and are enthusiastic about volunteering. For campground owners, understanding the dynamics of belonging can translate to higher guest satisfaction and loyalty.

The Branson meeting will also touch upon the essentials for associations to be self-sufficient and explore avenues for non-dues revenue generation. Additionally, there will be a deep dive into regional conferences, offering campground owners fresh perspectives on expanding their reach.

Lastly, attendees will benefit from training on a database program used by Lori Severson for association management. In an era where efficient data management can set businesses apart, this training promises to be invaluable for campground owners.

C.A.M.P.’s decision to align their meetings with ARVC and COE conferences is a testament to their commitment to the growth and success of campground owners. These meetings are not just about discussions; they are about shaping the future of the outdoor hospitality industry.
