Kampgrounds of America (KOA) has partnered with AdventureGenie, an AI-driven trip planning platform, to introduce a Route 66 Centennial series designed to streamline travel planning for RVers and road travelers.
The series features six AI-generated itineraries that integrate KOA campgrounds with landmarks, local experiences, and Americana attractions along the historic Route 66.
The initiative has been recognized by the U.S. Route 66 Centennial Commission as a Route 66 Centennial Certified Project.
“Route 66’s centennial is a milestone moment for American road travel,” Diane Eichler, senior vice president of marketing at KOA, said in a press release. “Our research shows that more than half of prospective Route 66 travelers plan to camp along the route.”
“As the leader in outdoor hospitality, KOA is focused on ensuring those travelers have the tools to plan with confidence. Partnering with AdventureGenie allows us to meet that demand with innovation that simplifies the journey from inspiration to reservation,” Eichler said.
KOA has spent more than 60 years leading the outdoor hospitality sector through guest experience, campground development, and technology initiatives.
The collaboration with AdventureGenie pairs KOA’s network of campgrounds with AI-powered planning, enabling users to generate fully customizable trip plans that adapt to traveler preferences, RV specifications, pace, and points of interest.
“AdventureGenie was built to help RVers move from inspiration to execution in minutes,” said Scott Lengel, CEO at AdventureGenie.
“By layering intelligent routing and personalized journey planning across KOA’s expansive campground network, we’re helping drive incremental nights, deeper trip engagement, and smarter travel decisions across the network,” Lengel added.
The Route 66 Centennial series represents the first phase of the partnership, with additional themed itineraries scheduled for later in 2026. KOA campers can access the series at AdventureGenie’s platform, which is offering a launch subscription discount.
