RV Industry Association Volunteers Revitalize Ox Bow County Park

The RV Industry Association’s Emerging Leaders Coalition culminated its Second Annual All-Industry Volunteer Day at the picturesque Ox Bow County Park in Elkhart County, Indiana, on Wednesday, May 10.

This event underscored the industry’s commitment to community service and environmental conservation, as per the News & Insights report of the RV Industry Association (RVIA).

Ox Bow County Park, renowned for its panoramic views, extensive hiking and biking trails, and various recreational facilities, became the focal point for a series of conservation and improvement projects.

The committed volunteers undertook a variety of tasks, from restoring a three-story watchtower and maintaining steps leading to wetland areas, to enhancing an 18-hole disc golf course and addressing invasive plant species.

Michilah Grimes, Lippert‘s director of corporate & community impact, expressed her gratitude for the industry leaders’ dedicated efforts.

“We once envisioned our community uniting to uplift our parks, and today we’re in awe of the industry leaders who made it happen. As we conclude our second successful event, we’re eager to see this movement evolve and inspire further positive change,” she said.

The event brought together hundreds of industry volunteers demonstrating the spirit of collaboration and engagement that is characteristic of the RV industry. Their collective efforts, not only revitalized a beloved community park but also reinforced the Association’s mission of nurturing leaders who excel professionally and contribute to societal betterment.

Elkhart County Parks staff and board expressed their appreciation for the overwhelming support from the RVIA. They acknowledged that the extensive improvements made to the park, which sees more than 250,000 visitors a year, far exceeded what the park staff could achieve independently.

Samantha Rocci, RVIA Staff Liaison for the Emerging Leaders Coalition, applauded the volunteers’ dedication and enthusiasm.

“The volunteers’ unwavering commitment to community engagement and giving back truly embodies the core values of the RV Industry Association’s Emerging Leaders Coalition,” she said.

This volunteer event underscores the transformative power of collaborative efforts by emerging leaders within an industry. Such selfless actions not only inspire others but also foster a wave of positive influence throughout the RV community.

The RV industry’s significance within the U.S. economy is undeniable, with RV shipments reaching a record high in 2021. This event stands as a testament to the industry’s commitment to not just economic growth but also community betterment and environmental preservation.

Isn’t it cool how the volunteers spruced up Ox Bow County Park? They really put their hearts into restoring the watchtower, enhancing the disc golf course, and tackling those pesky invasive plants. It’s awesome to see the community coming together like this. Kudos to everyone involved for making a difference and showing love for our environment. Great job, team!
