Jayco Division Leader Joyce Skinner Retires After 32 Years of Service

A special event was held on May 24 to celebrate Joyce Skinner, the leader of Entegra Coach and Jayco Motorized Customer Service division, for her 32 years of dedicated service. She will officially retire on June 30. The event, which took place at the Entegra Coach Homecoming, was attended by almost 500 owners, team members, and supplier partners.

The evening began with a happy hour and dinner, followed by a management presentation and celebration of Skinner before the night concluded with music and dancing.

Skinner reflected on her career, stating, “After 40 years in the RV industry, 32 of those with Jayco, I have made the decision to retire as of June 30th this year,”

“This decision has not been an easy one; I have always loved my job and the opportunities it has afforded me over the years, but realize that I need to start checking the boxes on my bucket list while I am still able to do so.”

Jayco’s Motorized division is undergoing a leadership transition in the Customer Service department. The role previously held by Skinner will now be taken over by a group of experienced leaders. Jacob Shearer will assume the position of Director of Customer Service for Motorized, while PJ Clanton will become the Director of Technical Training. The Motorized Factory Service will be led by Royce Pletcher, who recently joined the Jayco team in September as the Factory Service Manager.

Steve Claude, vice president of Corporate Customer Service, congratulated Skinner on her well-earned retirement, stating, “The love and dedication she has demonstrated to the motorized owners have set the foundation for how we do business. We wish her the very best as she completes her bucket list in retirement with friends and family.”

Joyce has been a part of Jayco for 18 years, initially working with Starcraft RV on the towable side of the business. In 2010, she moved on to the Entegra Coach brand and later joined the newly established Jayco motorhome division in the following year.

In a recent message to owners, Skinner shared her gratitude and fond memories, saying, “Some of you I only had contact with over the phone or through email but I want you to know, that regardless of what brought us together, I am thankful that our paths crossed. I hope that whatever it was I was able to help with, that I made a difference.”

Jayco, Entegra Coach, Highland Ridge RV, and Starcraft RV make up a historically influential and iconic group of companies.

More importantly, these four brands are united by a drive to do things right and make memorable experiences possible. Jayco RVs are designed with one thing in mind: making it easy for friends and family to gather, reconnect, and share adventure.

As the RV industry continues to evolve and grow, leaders like Joyce Skinner serve as a testament to the importance of exceptional customer service and dedication to one’s career.

Her example highlights the value of long-term commitment and passion, demonstrating how strong leadership can significantly impact a company’s success.

As the industry faces new challenges and opportunities, companies should prioritize nurturing and retaining talent, fostering a culture that encourages growth and innovation while maintaining a steadfast focus on customer satisfaction.
