Harbinger Delivers First Electric Chassis to THOR Industries, Elevating Sustainable RV Future

Harbinger, an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer based in Southern California, announced the delivery of its first customer chassis to THOR Industries, according to a press release.

Harbinger offers a platform designed specifically for commercial and specialty vehicle applications, with a focus on zero-acquisition premiums and supporting medium-duty EVs.

“Harbinger’s delivery of our first electric chassis to THOR paves the way for a new standard in the future of recreational vehicles. Together with THOR, Harbinger is demonstrating our commitment to class-leading engineering and environmental stewardship,” John Harris, CEO of Harbinger Motors, said in the press release.

The chassis, assembled at Harbinger’s headquarters, was transported to the THOR US Innovation Lab in Elkhart, Indiana

“Harbinger believes in enabling the electrification of RVs, along with the wide variety of medium-duty e-commerce delivery vehicles you see every day. Our strategy is focused on empowering companies to transform their fleets with sustainable options, tapping into a significant market opportunity that drives towards a greener, more innovative future in transportation,” Harris said.

The partnership between Harbinger and THOR has been in development for over a year, focusing on the electrification of RVs, which is a key player in THOR’s North American eMobility innovation strategy.THOR is crucial to investment in Harbinger’s technology and its role in the Series A funding.

Our investment in electrification reflects the THOR family of companies’ commitment to leading with advanced solutions for future RVers,” McKay Featherstone, THOR senior vice president of global innovation, said.

THOR offers an array of recreational vehicle (RV) industries, offering RVs and travel solutions designed to encourage and enable adventurers to explore.

Harris said that THOR allows Harbinger to broaden its scope from electrifying commercial applications to include specialty vehicles. 

“We are excited to strengthen our relationship with THOR and present a sustainable option for recreational vehicles and the owners who seek quieter, environmentally-friendly alternatives,” Harris added.
