Two seasoned RV enthusiasts have transformed a portion of their family’s farmland into a welcoming retreat for fellow travelers. Jeff and Kim Bladdick, drawing from their extensive road experience, have opened the I-55 RV Park near Edwardsville, Illinois.
“We are retired, full-time RVers from the St. Louis region, and we wanted to build an RV park on our farmland to make our forever home your temporary RV home. We look forward to hosting you soon!” the RV park indicated on its website.
The new campground, situated on three acres at 4260 Blackburn Road, just off Highways I-55 and 143 at Exit 23, boasts a prime location. It caters to both long-distance travelers and those exploring the Metro East region. The park’s proximity to Edwardsville and downtown St. Louis positions it as an attractive stopover for a diverse range of visitors.
The park also offers 20 full hook-up sites equipped with sewer, water, and electricity. It provides 20, 30, and 50-amp electrical plug-ins, catering to various RV sizes and power requirements. Visitors can also choose between pull-through and back-in sites on newly leveled gravel lots. Nightly rates for back-in sites start at $50, while pull-through sites start at $55.
The Bladdicks’ decision to create this space fulfilled a personal dream and addressed a growing need in the Edwardsville area. “We really wanted to make it convenient, because we’re just over a mile off the highway, and Edwardsville is a big, booming, up-and-coming community – we love it,” Kim explained, as reported by Edglen Today.
Kim also expressed enthusiasm about the park’s reception. “Our phones just keep ringing – people every week, they want a reservation, they tell me ‘We need you’ and we’re like, ‘Well, we need you too.’ There’s really no other competition, there’s no other place in the area to stay,” she said.
