Forest River, a recreational vehicle manufacturer in North America, has announced the renewal of its partnership with the Care Camps Foundation as it celebrates surpassing $1 million in cumulative donations.
According to a press release, the milestone was achieved through a pledge initiated in 2019, where Forest River committed to contributing a portion of the proceeds from every product sold to the foundation, which provides medically supervised camps for children living with cancer.
“We are pleased to celebrate this milestone in our partnership with Care Camps Foundation. As an RV manufacturer, it just makes sense,” Jason Hershberger, general manager of Forest River Inc. and a board member of the Care Camps Foundation, said. He emphasized the importance of collaboration to support children affected by cancer.
In addition to financial contributions, the partnership is represented through a co-branded sticker on every Forest River vehicle sold. This collaboration has also been a feature at the annual Elkhart RV Open House.
“We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Forest River and their extraordinary generosity,” Care Camps Foundation Executive Director Gwynn Sullivan said. “Their steadfast commitment to our mission greatly contributes to our ability to fund the pediatric oncology camps we serve.”
In 2023 alone, the Care Camps Foundation provided $2 million in funding to over 120 pediatric oncology camps across the U.S. and Canada. The foundation’s efforts impacted over 41,000 children, siblings, and families, offering them an opportunity “for children living with cancer and their families to experience community and the healing power of the outdoors.”
Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Forest River has expanded within the recreational vehicle and transportation industries. Employing over 14,000 people and operating more than 100 facilities across the U.S., its diverse portfolio includes RVs, buses, and pontoon boats.
