Dometic has partnered with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) to provide hands-on training for recreational vehicle service technicians, with courses scheduled for October 2026 and January 2027 at RVTI’s training facility.
The two-day programs will cover the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Dometic and Atwood products, including air conditioners, water heaters, furnaces and refrigerators. The sessions will combine practical instruction with technical discussions to help technicians identify and diagnose common equipment issues.
The first training session is scheduled for Oct. 20–21, followed by a second session on Jan. 26–27, 2027. Both will take place at RVTI’s facility, which is available to members of the RV Industry Association (RVIA).
Technicians attending the courses can earn hours toward RVTI certification based on their participation. Attendees will receive eight certification hours for completing one day of training and 16 hours for attending both days.
Each two-day training program costs $300. Technicians interested in participating must register by completing the designated registration form and submitting it to Dometic at training.school@dometic.com. Additional information about the courses and their schedules is available through RVTI.
The partnership also provides RVTI with an opportunity to make its training facility available to a broader segment of the RV industry. The institute’s facility is open to all RVIA members interested in conducting training and other industry-related activities.
RVIA members seeking to use the facility can contact Justin Rickett, RVTI director of industry relations, at jrickett@rvti.org to inquire about availability.
The training initiative combines Dometic’s product instruction with RVTI’s certification program, allowing participating technicians to earn certification hours while receiving hands-on instruction on equipment commonly covered by the courses.
The October and January sessions will provide two scheduled opportunities for technicians to participate in the training, with registration handled directly through Dometic.
