Modern America Campgrounds announced the acquisition of Lone Oak Campsites in East Canaan, Connecticut, marking its 27th park acquisition in two years. The company plans to officially incorporate Lone Oak Campsites into its portfolio on December 1, aligning with its strategic goal of expanding to 29 parks by year-end.
As part of its expansion strategy, Modern America Campgrounds has introduced programs for both seasonal members and transient guests. Notably, seasonal pass members now have the opportunity to access other Modern America Campgrounds free of charge on a limited basis, enhancing camping options and fostering community among campers across the company’s properties.
According to a press release, Hunter Vazza, a spokesperson for Modern America, highlighted the unique value this offers to customers. “We welcome our seasonal members to visit our other parks,” Vazza stated.
He emphasized the diverse offerings across their properties, including Bar Harbor Campground’s ocean views and Eastern Slope Campground’s riverside location. Vazza noted that no other park owner in the northeast offers complimentary access to 27 parks for seasonal members.
“There isn’t another park owner in the northeast that allows their seasonal member campers complimentary access to 27 parks. The value is there for our customers, and it’s what separates us from other parks,” Vazza added.
The company also launched the Freedom Trail Pass, granting campers access to all Modern America Campgrounds with minimal restrictions during peak season. This initiative allows campers to explore various destinations within the company’s network.
Modern America Campgrounds’ acquisition strategy includes expanding into upstate New York and the Mid-Atlantic region.
For the 2025 season, the company plans to introduce a Loyalty Rewards Program for transient campers, offering discounts and free stays. This program aims to recognize and appreciate guest loyalty.
