New Campground on Santa Cruz Island to Open This Autumn

Planning has been completed for a new campground in Channel Islands National Park (California), and it could be built and ready by fall.

As per a report, the new campground will be close to Prisoners Harbor on Santa Cruz Island.

The campground will be the island’s third campground joining the famous Scorpion Canyon campground and the small backcountry Del Norte campground.

The new campground is accessible as it is located just a quarter of a mile from Prisoners Harbor. The campground can accommodate approximately two dozen campers.

The Channel Islands Park Foundation and The Fund For People in Parks are assisting with the $140,000 project. The work will begin this summer, and plans call for it to be ready to be used by this fall.

The fresh campground on Santa Cruz Island sounds like a awesome place to immerse yourself in nature. It offers a peaceful camping experience surrounded by the island’s natural beauty, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, such as hiking, wildlife viewing, kayaking, and snorkeling. It’s the perfect opportunity to get away from the busyness and connect with the great outdoors.
