Cache Creek Canyon Regional Park Opens for This Year’s Camping Season

Cache Creek Canyon Regional Park (California), located six miles to the north of the town of Rumsey along State Highway 16, opens for this year’s camping season.

According to a report, Cache Creek Regional Park is divided into three use areas: the Cache Creek Upper Park Site, the Cache Creek Middle Campground Park Site, and the Cache Creek Lower Park Site. The three parks provide a variety of activities, including white-water rafting, rural hiking, kayaking, fishing, and nature trails.

On April 1, Cache Creek Canyon Regional Park reopened its 45 campground sites and four group sites. In April 2020, when the Yolo County Shelter in Place Order came out, all Yolo county parks were closed. Even though parks were reopened in May 2020, Cache Creek Campground remained closed.

With strict restrictions, the campground was able to reopen specific sites in the latter part of June 2020.

In August 2020, the campground had to be shut down again because of LNU fires. It remained closed until late September 2020 before closing for the season several days later.

On Friday, Supervisor Angel Barajas, residents, and county officials opened the doors to the 2022 camping season from April 1 through October 10 without restrictions.
