That’s about to change when the former Petoskey KOA reopens for the summer camping season on May 6 as Jellystone Park Petoskey, becoming the sixth Yogi Bear-themed park in Michigan. The Petoskey park further expands the Jellystone Park brand in Michigan, complementing other locations in Frankenmuth, Grayling, North Port Huron, Silver Lake, and South Haven.
“The Petoskey area offers many attractions such as bike trails, golf resorts, and nature preserves. With the opening of Jellystone Park Petoskey, we’re creating a destination with lots of memorable activities for families with children,” said Nick DiBella, senior vice president of operations at Sun Outdoors. “This will be a great fit for the Petoskey area.”
Jellystone Park locations are known for providing an exceptionally wide range of attractions and amenities. The Petoskey location will feature a heated swimming pool, a hot tub, sand volleyball, basketball, a gaga ball pit, a children’s playground, a pet playground, a group fire pit, and an onsite cafe.
Jellystone Park locations are also famous for family activities such as foam parties and interactions with Yogi Bear-costumed characters. Weekend-themed activities vary widely by location. Jellystone Park Petoskey’s weekend themes will be announced prior to the park’s May 6 opening.
Guests will be greeted by an expanded campground featuring 67 new RV sites, complete with a new comfort station. In addition, 20 new vacation rentals are being added to the property, giving more families the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement that a visit to a Jellystone Park location entails.
