NewBook, a booking and park management software company, has appointed Shaun Cornelius as their new CEO, a press release said.
Cornelius is an experienced digital growth CEO with experience as a former senior executive at eBay and as managing director at Autotrader/Carsguide. According to the release, the move follows a period of high growth for NewBook.
Cornelius is no stranger to the tech industry. He has extensive experience in leading high-growth digital businesses, including Australian-based startups. Cornelius is an entrepreneur who has worked in South Africa and London before joining eBay Australia. He also went on to become the CEO of InfoChoice. He also founded Choosi, an insurance comparison website.
The appointment of Cornelius to NewBook’s CEO was supported by Potentia Capital, a technology-focused private equity firm. This is part of an ambitious growth plan for the company.
According to the release, Cornelius will guide NewBook into its next phase of growth. This will include further investments in customer support, development, and go-to-market capabilities. NewBook will then be able to expand globally.

Cornelius succeeds Founder and President Brad Illich and interim CEO and Operating Partner at Potentia, Cheyne Tan. Illich and Tan both remain in the NewBook family. Illich continues his role as founder, president, and Tan continues as a board member, director, and chairman of NewBook Tim Reed.

Cornelius will assume the CEO position in August. Cornelius joins Erin Stevenson and Nic Chin, Kate Dixon, who have over 30 years of experience in the accommodation industry.
