Rustic Acres Campground in Illinois Joins Jellystone Park Network

Rustic Acres Campground will reopen April 1 as Rustic Acres Jellystone Park, becoming the fourth Yogi Bear-themed campground in Illinois.

“We’re really excited about joining the Jellystone Park network and intensifying our focus on providing a great place for families to create memories with their children,” said BJ Davis, who owns and operates the campground with his wife, Jennifer.

“We like the Jellystone Park brand,” he said. “It correlates closely with what we want our campground to be.”

The Davises purchased the 160-site campground in 2017. Since then, they have made many improvements to the park in preparation for joining the Jellystone Park network. These improvements include redesigning the campsites to accommodate larger vehicles and investing in new attractions, such as a giant jumping pillow, laser tag, and a foam machine. The Davises also plan to install a gem mining sluice and a new playground this year.

Existing attractions at the park include a 30-by-50-foot swimming pool, a playground, a gaga ball pit, and two large catch-and-release fishing lakes with bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. The park also has a basketball court and a volleyball net. Four rental cabins are available to complement the park’s many RV and tent sites.

Jellystone Park locations are famous for their family attractions, activities, and Yogi Bear costumed characters. The New Douglas location’s themed weekends will range from family sporting events to Wet N Wild, Candy Sweet Tooth, Easter, and Christmas themes with games and prizes. The park will also offer Halloween-themed weekends with costume and campsite decorating contests and trick-or-treating.

The Rustic Acres Jellystone Park Camp-Resort is the fourth in Illinois, complementing other Jellystone Park locations in Amboy, Millbrook, and Pittsfield. For more information, please visit www.rusticacresjellystone.com.
