A retired Airbus A320 has been repurposed into a luxury accommodation at Apple Camping, a glamping site near Pembrokeshire. The site offers an array of unconventional lodging options, including a futuristic UFO, and eco-friendly geodomes. The A320 stands out as a centerpiece, combining aviation history with modern comforts.
The converted aircraft retains its original fuselage design while incorporating contemporary living features. The space includes an open-plan layout with two single beds and a convertible sofa bed, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests. The fuselage, fitted with 26 windows equipped with pull-down blinds, allows natural light to illuminate the interior.
Incorporating the aircraft’s original features, the living area includes operational cabin doors and branded storage units from airlines like Etihad and Air France. Guests also have access to a fully equipped kitchen, making the stay convenient for families and aviation enthusiasts alike.
The lavatory facilities have been thoughtfully adapted, with one transformed into a modern shower and the other preserved as an original feature with Arabic signage. The blend of functionality and historical elements offers a unique experience for guests.
Guests can also relax in a living area, complete with a coffee table and Freeview television, illuminated by converted overhead compartment lights. The exterior features a west-facing outdoor area with double-glazed windows and a deck, providing a scenic view for sunset enthusiasts.
Another distinctive lodging option at Apple Camping is “The Igloo,” a geodesic dome designed for a polar-inspired glamping experience. Accessible through a tunnel door, the dome offers a unique interior featuring a mahogany-colored floor and elevated double beds positioned for stargazing.
The Igloo includes a compact kitchen with a coffee bar and a private bathroom ensuite, blending luxury with convenience. Guests can also enjoy a private outdoor area equipped with a fire pit, perfect for evenings under the stars.
Apple Camping’s proximity to Pembrokeshire’s beaches and attractions also enhances its appeal, providing guests with easy access to outdoor adventures and local landmarks.
