Finalists Announced for 2024/25 Dorset Tourism Awards, Winners to be Revealed in February 2025

The finalists for the 2024/25 Dorset Tourism Awards have been announced, with the winners set to be revealed at a ceremony at Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth on February 6, 2025. The awards recognize excellence across various categories in the tourism industry, with 59 finalists selected after five months of judging.

Winners will receive Gold, Silver, or Bronze awards, while ten entries will receive Commended status, and two special awards will also be announced, according to Dorset Tourism Awards’ news release.

Now in its 12th year, the Dorset Tourism Awards continue to evolve, with changes in categories and criteria reflecting the dynamic nature of the tourism sector. This year marks the return of the International Tourism category and a stronger focus on sustainability and accessibility.

Organizers have also retained their accreditation in the Awards TrustMark scheme, highlighting their commitment to fair and transparent processes.

For businesses in the outdoor hospitality sector, several finalists stood out:

Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year finalists include Back of Beyond Touring, Camping & Glamping Park in St. Leonards, Coppet Hill Partners in Bridport, Monkton Wyld Holiday Park in Bridport, and South Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park in Lytchett Minster.

Glamping Business of the Year features Dorset Forest Garden Glamping in Beaminster, Longthorns Farm in Wareham, and Loose Reins Dorset in Blandford Forum as finalists.

Dog-Friendly Business of the Year sees Back of Beyond Touring, Camping & Glamping Park in St. Leonards and Sculpture by the Lakes in Pallington among the finalists.

The Ethical, Responsible & Sustainable Tourism Award recognizes West Dorset Leisure Holidays’ Highlands End in Bridport, with Sandford Holiday Park by Parkdean Resorts in Poole earning a Commended designation.

In the Experience of the Year category, nominees include Alpaca Trekking Experience at Longthorns Farm in Wareham and Hidden Dorset Half Day by Sea Kayak Dorset in Portland.

Several finalists are also highlighted in other categories, such as Accessible and Inclusive Tourism and Large Visitor Attraction of the Year.

“Celebrating excellence is so important – to the winners themselves, to the staff who work there, and to everyone in industry looking to the future,” said Robin Barker of Services for Tourism, the awards organizer.

“It is also important for Dorset in showcasing the county on the national and international stage. Congratulations to everyone involved.”

Winners of Gold awards in specific categories will be eligible to represent Dorset at the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in 2025.
