Camping and glamping sites in Derbyshire have been recognized with nine awards in the UK-wide Camping and Glamping Awards, organized by Campsites.co.uk. Longnor Wood Holiday Park in Buxton was named Best Adult Only Site in the UK for the second consecutive year.
The Camping and Glamping Awards aim to recognize excellence in camping experiences across the UK, spotlighting sites that prioritize guest satisfaction and quality amenities.
The Buxton site also earned accolades in the East Midlands region, taking the title of Best Adult Only Site and securing runner-up positions for Best Caravan Park and Best Small Site. Known for its range of pitches and facilities, including a gym, games room, and sauna, the park has achieved a strong 4.8/5 review score from over 100 reviews, with 94% of guests recommending it.
The Longnor Wood team expressed pride in their achievements, saying, “We want to allow visitors to create long-lasting memories and encourage them to recommend us to their friends and family. We are very proud of the area we are lucky to call home and are passionate about raising awareness of nearby events, landmarks, and attractions for the benefit of our local community.”
Barn Farm Campsite in Matlock also received significant recognition, winning runner-up in the Best Campsite (National) category and securing titles for Best Campsite (East Midlands) and Best Family Campsite (East Midlands).
The campsite offers a scenic retreat overlooking the Derwent Valley and serves as a sanctuary for wildlife, including badgers and rare black fallow deer. Facilities include 24-hour-accessible toilet and shower blocks with individual shower cubicles, a disabled-friendly shower room with baby changing amenities, and on-site laundry with a washer and dryer.
For recreation, the site features a wooden play area for children up to age 10, a games room equipped with TV, arcade games, and a pool table, providing entertainment options for all visitors.
